Someone reassure me this isn't something to worry about

Just spoke to my daycare. They told me that my DD had a bm this morning half in her diaper and the rest on the potty.

They said that they noticed a little bit of red blood in her diaper and then some more (not alot) when they wiped her.

Her teacher showed it to the Director, and they both think that she was probably just straining when she went, and that they will look out for it again.

Anyone ever experience this? DD is 2 1/2.

Just need to know that this isn't a big deal.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thanks

i tend to agree with the daycare.. but if youre worried she might have blood in her stool i would take a sample to your ped and have them test it for blood. good luck Chat Icon

I would say it's straining too. If you notice more, then I would call the pediatrician.Chat Icon

I agree, I wouldn't call the ped just yet, but be sure to check the next time she goes.

Usually, if it's red...it could definately be from straining. It's when the blood is very dark that it is internal.

If you are worried, then definately call the ped. If it were me, I would wait until the next time and if it happens again, then I'd call.
