Re: Someone tried to kidnap my niece from school today
Posted by 2girlsforme
I have a question, how did the woman get into the building??? Getting into my daughter's school is like getting into Fort Knox. I would press the principal hard as to how the woman possibly got in and I would also send a certified letter to both the superintendent and the school board, and attend a PTA meeting and bring it up.
I found out that in the nice weather they do outside dismissal and that's where they were today (I thought this was inside when I first heard about it).
But what really is scary is this woman must have been watching for a few days to know to say "Daddy asked me to get you". My SIL is there for the drop off with my brother but is home with my 2 nephews when he goes back to pick the girls up. So how did she know to say that?
The officers that came to the house got a pretty good description from my niece and the officers also are going to make sure all other schools in the surrounding areas area also notified. They also told my niece she was a hero for knowing not to go with a stranger and my niece said "I know only to leave with Mommy, Daddy or Grandma. And I know if something happened to them my Aunt or Uncle would get us - no one else!"

Re: Someone tried to kidnap my niece from school today
Wow that's scary...
But I don't understand something... this woman walked up to the teacher not knowing your niece's name and said what? I'm here to pick 'her' up and then just pointed her out? That's so weird....how could she think she'd get away with that?
Thank goodness your niece is ok!

Re: Someone tried to kidnap my niece from school today
That is so scary... It's a little unnerving that she was able to get so close to the children when she's not supposed to be there.

Re: Someone tried to kidnap my niece from school today
OMG im shaking. this is sooo scary Thank GOD your niece is ok, and that she's such a smart girl.
Im speechless. I just cant imagine what is running through people's minds.
This story should be on the news, even if they remain nameless and dont go on camera. just to raise awareness and bring people (happens to all of us) out of our comfort zones for a big wake up call.
Cant they contact the teacher at home, Im sure she wouldnt mind being contacted for something like this.
God bless your sweet niece, give her a hug for me. Im so proud of her.

OMG!! That is so scary!!! Thank God the teacher followed the rules, even in the hustle and bustle of dismissal with tons of kids and parents all over the place. I'm so glad your niece is okay!

Holy! I am so glad she knew not to go. But, they should be a few security guards around just for that case. Like if the teacher could of screamed a code word they could of caught this woman.

Maybe this district needs to revisit its outdoor dismissal procedure. I would still go to the superintendant, board and PTA and maybe even the local papers.

My DC school is like Fort Knox!!! Im their mother and I cant pick them up from the classroom!!!!!!!! I have to show ID (and they know who I am)..then they call down to the childs teacher and the teacher then sends them to the front office...where I have to then sign them out!!!!!
