They're all cute, becauase often little things ARE cute! I guess those would be good for an older couple who didn't want to spend a lot of time on maintenance.

Re: Someone was looking for 300k homes

I don't think it's a bad investment - esp when condos and coops are not much less plus maintenance fees, less of a tax writeoff, and no room to expand

Anyway, maybe the person who originally asked will find it helpful to know there are some places out there.

They are more difficult to sell and if you bought it to resell. Most homebuyers want at least 3 bedrooms

The last one was nice, but doesn't even have a washer and dryer. Paying for that hookup an finding a place for it would be tough with that small a house. Chat Icon The first three are fewer square feet than our 1200 sq. ft. 1 bedroom condo. Some of these homes are so tiny!

Agreed. Better buy it with the intent on expanding!

Thank you!
It's nice to see that there are houses out there for under $300k....even if they are on the smaller side Chat Icon

And that is the truth....BTW, our house is 300K and it's in Medford, there are a lot of decent homes there in that price range...just be careful of the school districts.

Re: Someone was looking for 300k homes

I have to say my dh and I bought a house less than 1000sf and no basement. Its a 2bed/1bath cottage. I am not going to lie and say it is easy getting used to but, we got such a good deal on it last year that we now have about 70,000 in equity (once the updates, not expansion is done). My property is so big I can double the size of my house and 1 1/2 car garage and still have plenty of room without variances. I live in the Middle Country school district and since we only want one child this house will be fine for a couple of years until we expand or sell.
