i thought to share this in hopes it will give you about 20 seconds of saying "hmm" as a slight distraction.



i'm on an email chain about how there are two employees with the exact same name but different employee id numbers. the original email was written for clarification.

turns out that George Foreman is not the only person to name all his children after himself.

the employees in question... there are THREE siblings. three brothers who all have the same name John Q Smith (where the Q is a different middle name). two of the brothers are TWINS (fraternal... not sure that matters, but it was documented in the email).

yes, all three young men work for my employer and all three young men work in the same station.

this is going to be interesting.

I grew up with a family like that. There were 4 sisters. All had the same first name but different middle names. In their family they were know by their middle names, but to the outside world, they went by their first name. They were all named after their mother who was named after their grandmother who was named after their great-grandmother!

As a kid, my friend explained to me that it was a cultural thing (they are from Portugal). I don't know if that's true or not, but it was interesting.
