Sometimes I don't know why we bother calling some people

We noticed some carpenter bees a few weeks ago around the roof. Yesterday I saw one going into the roof.

DH called the exterminator we used 3 years ago. They could not come for 2 weeks so DH called "some other guy". They were $50 cheaper too. Woohoo!!!

We had "discussed" with them the warranty and wanted for the end of the Summer. Woman on the phone accepts, etc...

They guy shows up today, knows nothing about a warranty longer than 1 month. Well, 3 years ago the bees came back 1.5 month later. They can come back around until mid-Summer. So I told the guy not to do anything until this warranty thing is resolves. He goes back in his truck, WAITING for his boss to call back. I am on the phone with DH, DH is on the phone with them. Woman says you are covered for the whole Summer (90 days). DH is like... "no, it's not the whole Summer. We are in May and the bees are in season until mid August minimum. She says she has to call back the GM. HTH!!! DH discussed it with her yesterday on the phone. So DH ends up "firing" them. Guys leaves. He was camping there for 20 minutes still waiting for his boss. It's not like I am going to wait for the boss to call and watch through the kitchen window if they guy is coming back. NUTS!!!!!

Anyway, DH called the original company back. They sent someone today, guaranteed the work until the end of the Summer and gave us $25 off.

I don't know why we put up with so much aggravation with some people.

I'm sorry to hear you had the run around..we have a bee issue..would you mind sharing who is helping you?? I am looking out and noticing them...argh...thanks!

In case they come back - my mom's good friend is an exterminator (my mom has them really bad). He said to wait till they're in their holes and shoot WD-40 in there. They drop dead - seriously - it's like instantaneous.

That's all she uses - she doesn't shoot them straight out b/c she just doesn't have good aim.

So - in a pinch and if you want to save yourself some money - WD-40 is the way to go. Tried and true.
