sometimes things are not fair

today I'm taking my parents to see my brother at Jamaica..my DH took the day off to go on his friend's boat.

Why isn't he going with me you may ask? Beats me.

I guess it's my problem and not his..

Then after, I am taking them to the airport and seeing them off. He will still be on the boat into the evening.

yes, the two guys he is going with are married.

it just blows..I've been at the hospital every day this week with them..

I wish I could take a day off and go on a boat...

Re: sometimes things are not fair

I hear ya Chat Icon They don't get it sometimes. The way I feel is that you marry into the whole family, and you don't get to pick and choose what events you would like to go to Chat Icon My DH just told me he was flying to NC to see his mom on the same day my parents are having a grad. party for my sister! He actually had the nerve to say "Do I have to be there?" Um yeah, how bad is that going to look!? Chat Icon

It almost sounds like he has an issue with your brother - ? Maybe I'm reading too much into it.

Either that or he just doesn't get it. I'm so sorry. Men can be so stupid sometimes... I hope he comes around!

I think you are an amazing woman who is so dedicated to her family. Your husband is lucky to have such a loyal, strong, and caring individual as his wife.

Is it possible he is feeling somewhat neglected by the attention that you are giving to your brother during this time and is taking out his frustrations in this very immature, unsupportive way? Maybe you should sit down and have a talk with him so that you can work together to make sure that everyone's needs are met - yours, his, and your brothers.......
