Son of a...
My SIL is getting married Friday, Sept. 19th on LI.
When is my Back to School Night, you ask?
Thursday, Sept. 18th 
Luckily, I found an early Friday flight. Now I just need to find someone to pick us up.
Bah!

ARGH that stinks!!! I'm sorry about that!! Back to school night is a MAJOR PITA. Does your school do all grades/classes in one night? At my school they have often accommodated teachers with conflicts (we have two teachers that have kids in schools in the same district that have same back to school nights) by having them switch nights. (we have a K-2 night and a 3-5 night)
Last year DH bought us tickets to a Yankee game (I know, big deal but we rarely go to night games) a few months in advance. The giveaway that night was a Snoopy doll so we were excited . Well I find out it's back to school night so I can't go.
I go to Back to School night, I wait in my room, and I am NOT visited by a single parent!  . Not one. Doesn't help I'm a music teacher...in the basement!! I had plenty of visitors last year because it was my first year. I think it was poorly organized this past year though so that might be why. Plus, they put me on K-2 night, and I don't even teach K!

We have a small school, so we're all one night. I know one year a teacher was sick so she had her own BTSN... but I don't think that will happen for my situation.

At a winery out east. There's a flight that gets into Islip at 8... I just called my MIL to see if there's someone who could pick us up the morning of. The wedding is at 3, and I'm not sure when hair/makeup starts.

oh good the flight gets in early enough...but yeah it would have been nice to leave even earlier!!
