Soo.. how do you deal with CD 2 u/s? *UPDATE! TMI...OMG...
I have to go in for an ultrasound today, CD 2.
AF is here in FULL FORCE (I'm talking super plus tampon AND pad just in case mode)... I feel at just the thought of it!
How do you deal? Just tell yourself they've seen and done this all before?
Last month I went in on CD 1 and had a super light period - almost nothing - because I had been on BCP to control my cycle before that.
I know this is a silly concern... but just looking for some words of enouragement!
I start round 2 of injections tonight
------
*UPDATE:
Well, my worst fears were realized. Everything was going fine until the RE goes to pull the wand out and BLAM. And *TMI TMI TMI* a nice chunk of blood comes flying out and lands on the floor between me, the RE, and the nurse. I probably literally looked like this: and wanted to crawl into a hole and die.
Guess the plus side is... I think that's pretty much as embarrassing as it can get - so it must only get easier from here!
Anyone have a brown paper bag I can borrow to wear over my face for my next appointment on Friday?

Re: Soo.. how do you deal with CD 2 u/s?
I guess I've been having them done for so long I dont' even think about it.
You are right, the sono techs have been doing this for so long and have seen it all, I'm sure your cd 2 is not going to be that much different than someone else's.
Don't worry about it!

I agree. Just close your eyes and know they've seen it all before.

And be careful when you slide forward on the table. Just in case, never happened to me, but I am always scared of something gross happening.
Here's a story - CD2 at Cornell. I had 3 people in the room (RE, nurse and student). After the u/s they stayed there b/c the nurse had to weigh me in. And I'm like "I cannot get up", maybe you can give me two minutes to get myself together. They were kind of annoyed at me. But, I'm like if you don't want me to bleed all over the floor you'll give me a minute. She didn't care, but I did. Sheesh... can you say factory? I'm telling you when I got my pants back on and opened the door to tell them I was ready, there were 3 nurses talking and they all turned when I opened the door. I felt like they were talking about me. I didn't really care to be honest. Its all about me being comfortable and in control.
Good luck.

Re: Soo.. how do you deal with CD 2 u/s? *UPDATE! TMI...OMG...
If it makes you feel any better, I was so heavy once that the sono tech even commented on it. By the time I got up there was a blob on the table and the blood even soaked through the extra pad they put down under me. Ewwww! The sono tech had left the room to let me get dressed and it was just me and my mom (for whatever reason, I was nervous that cycle and my mom went with me on CD3 ).
I tossed the pad, ripped off the paper and then used wet paper towels to clean the blood stains off the table. I was mortified, but I know I can't be the worst they've ever seen.
When I read your post, I just thought that you were LUCKY that the chunk didn't hit anyone when it flew out.

Oh, god, I have to go in on Wednesday...
But this is my second time around and I tell you they REALLY have seen it all, so I don't let it bother me one bit. If I bleed like stuck pig on the table, then, oh well....
But you did make me chuckle a lil bit

Re: Soo.. how do you deal with CD 2 u/s? *UPDATE! TMI...OMG...
Wow, that is a pretty good story. I have definitely had situtations where (okay, I'm gagging) a nice clot falls onto the floor. Especially because they're poking around up there it kind of gets things moving. But I've never had it happen before in front of them! I'm so sorry that happened to you, but OMG I'm sure they must have seen it a million times before.
I've posted this in the past, but one time they were doing a sono and the probe "condom" got STUCK in me!!!!

ETS: Did they say anything when that happened?
