Re: Soriano to the Mets
This is definitely not even close to being confirmed.
I wouldn't mind it... cause it would mean in the end we got Soriano for Kazmir. Still got owned... but ok i suppose.
We have PLENTY of starters available to pitch. Trax comes back in two weeks. We have Seo pitching GREAT in AAA. Heilman can start on a moment's notice. I am not worried.
We need a bat... BADLY. And 2B is where we need it the most.
If Soriano comes... Matsui is as good as gone.... probably for another reliever.

I know people that work in the MLB office that hear all the trade rumors. There are OAK-NYM talks... SD-NYM talks... and BAL-NYM talks. Mainly discussing Piazza, Floyd, Cameron, Glavine, and Hernandez.
Nothing said about Zambrano and Texas. But who knows I suppose.
Sometimes radio people will draw up all these trade rumors to help ratings.

it would be good but only if the pitching doesn't suffer
we don't need any more setbacks in that dept.

Actually its not as good as you think.
Show your DH these stats.
Split AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB HBP SO SB CS AVG OBP SLG OPS Home 188 38 61 15 0 17 43 10 1 31 6 2 .324 .358 .676 1.034 Away 178 27 41 9 0 6 18 8 2 42 5 0 .230 .270 .382 .652
Soriano at Shea is a HUGE risk.

Well i don't think the pitching will suffer. AND hopefully by next year you get a great reliever/closer...and IMO the Mets will be good to go!

I don't mind giving up a pitcher. We have plenty of pitching. But check out Soriano's road stats. Piss poor IMO.

You have to align the colums better. He has 23 HRs.
But Soriano's road stats... .230 average... and a HORRID .652 OPS

And knowing his horrid road stats... I would _almost_ take a chance on this.
Texas needs pitching... we need hitting... it makes sense.
But place his road stats into one of the worst hitters park in the league.... spells trouble.
I would definitely do it if they took Matsui though.

Without a doubt. But we would probably get jack a-- for Matsui.
Not like it matters though.

Re: Soriano to the Mets
The Soriano rumors are starting to heat up.
And they are discussing sending Zambrano to Texas. Also might be Heilman that may go.
Word is... Showalter wants Soriano off the team. We shall see what happens.
