Sorry - another question...baby counts
My doctor discussed this last night. I need to get 10 kicks in 1 hour and do this 3 times per day. I started doing this last week to get a feel for her active times and of course today when I go to start I get interupted left and right and when I have a minute to sit - she's quiet.
How often do you all do it - if you do - and do you always do the same times?

Re: Sorry - another question...baby counts
I read about this somewhere - and I believe it said the baby is most active after you eat - and once you lay down. I have noticed that to be true for my baby. Since you work full time and it's not that easy to just lay down at work maybe do it once in the morning, once right after dinner, and then again before bedtime (and after a snack of course )

Re: Sorry - another question...baby counts
IN my first pregnancy I started at about 28 weeks, and I just did it when I remembered. I didn't always do it at the same time. I did it about 2-3 times per day.

She said that rather than count kicks to try & see if there is a pattern. (IE kicks alot while driving, when you lay down, right before lunch, that sort of thing) and that if I notice that the pattern is off to call her.

I am almost 34 weeks and my doctor hasn't mentioned this to me at all.
Hmm, another question for when I call today

Re: Sorry - another question...baby counts
I never really "counted" kicks with either of my boys. If I happened to notice that we were having a "quiet" day, I would start poking around my belly to get em moving

Re: Sorry - another question...baby counts
One day out of total boredom I did count them for myself while sitting at my desk...I think I got to some ridiculous count b/c the baby was being quite active at the time. My real understanding is just to notice if the little baby is moving often, more or less at certain times and obviously as time goes on, if the intensity increases. [Like now I can't be certain if a foot or hand is jabbing me...but in a few weeks, it should be more obvious]
