Sorry another Halloween Question...Thank Yous?
Did you notice many kids who did NOT say thank you??!!
This just annoys me! There were kids who did say it and some of them had parents who made sure that they said it to me but there were just kids who did not say anything.

Its the parents fault. I made sure to say it for my 17 month old and I would NEVER let my kid of any age walk away without saying it.

I mean do these people really think about what is happening on Halloween...your kids are going to people's houses asking for free candy...say THANK YOU!

Re: Sorry another Halloween Question...Thank Yous?
I usually say Happy Halloween and just say something and some kids just stood there silent with their bags open

Re: Sorry another Halloween Question...Thank Yous?
Almost ALL of the kids at my house said "thank you". I was actually impressed!
I did embarass 2 kids though who came to my house at two different times! I felt bad because I don't think they realized that they had been there before, but I remembered them!

Re: Sorry another Halloween Question...Thank Yous?
No one said thankyou to me except for one girl, even the parents walked away without saying thankyou, so now I know why the kids are so rude!!

I was at my parents and all the kids said thank you..Even the parents said Thank You. We took my nephew (he's 4) and my sister made sure my nephew said Thank You to everyone..I said it for my 21 month old as well.

Re: Sorry another Halloween Question...Thank Yous?
Sometimes it's just the excitement. My sons were absolutely raised to say "please" and "thank you" - and they do an admiral job of minding their manners. BUT... it's halloween and they are jacked up and excited and they want to get to as many houses as possible... so sometimes "Thank You' doesn't slip out as quickly or easily as it should. They did it at most houses - but I notice Robbie or Noah did run off a couple of times without saying Thanks. In those instances I just said "I'm sorry! Thank you very much and Happy Halloween!" and then reminded them that they needed to show appropriate gratitude to the people who were kind enough to open their doors.

I agree! I got a lot of kids who said Thank you after I said "Happy Halloween" when they took their candy!
