Andrew was taken by emerg c-section at 37 weeks. He went into NICU but only because they delivered him so quickly he ingested fluid. My pressure dropped as soon as I had him and went back to normal.

He was born 6lbs 11oz.

I was not induced. My pressure got so out of control so quick that they did an emerg c-section.

if you can last till 37 weeks then you have a good chance to go into the regular nursery instead of the nicu..

Re: Sorry to bother u (Repost from PG)

I developed pre-eclampsia at 39w and 3 days. I was induced that night. I was on magnesium to prevent a stroke but it didn't affect me the same way if affects some other women. It's suppose to make you very lathergic and sleepy but I really didn't feel that way. I was able to bf exclusively and get up and walk around by myself.

I had a great delivery as well. I was between 2-3 cm dialated when they started pitocin around midnight. My water broke at 10:30am and at noon I was still only about 3 cm. By 4 pm, I was fully dialated and begging for an epidural and dd was born at 5:41 after a 1/2 hour of pushing.

I hope this helps. FM me if you have any questions.

Re: Sorry to bother u (Repost from PG)

I delivered at 33w 5d due to preclampsia. My bp was 160-100, blurred/double vision and 4+ protein in urine. I went to the dr for a regular checkup and they sent me to the hospital, I was monitored for two days and on the third day they delivered me, no change in bp, high risk drs were afraid I would seizure, bc bp was so high. This happened fast for me. I was fine the following Tuesday and by Saturday the same week I got these symptoms.

Re: Sorry to bother u (Repost from PG)

I had preclampsia at 38 weeks, I was VERY swollen, and just didn't feel right, I went to the dr and my BP was high, but I didn't have protein in my pee, so he sent me home on bedrest hoping my BP would go down in the morning, well it didn't and he told me he would deliver the baby c-section that night! The baby and I were fine, and I'm glad he did take her out 2 weeks early, I dont want to think what could of happend to us if I didn't go to his office that day.....

They say its very common in first pregnancy's.

Did you dr say you had it? How do you feel? FM me if you have any questions.Chat Icon

They did find anything in my urine. But they said that i have the start of it. I go back to the doctors on friday to see how my blood work came out and to see how my blood pressure is. I'm on bedrest and i have to keep my feet up i'm very swollen and feel very tired and wiped out.

Re: Sorry to bother u (Repost from PG)

My DS was born at 36w5d. The dr. didn't want to wait because my BP was getting high. You can check out my birth story on pregnancy for more info. My son was 6lbs 8oz and there were no plans for him to go to the NICU, even though he was a few days shy of 37 weeks they had said from the sonos he was big enough. However, he had to go to the NICU because he was very lethargic from the magnesium they gave me and he was born with the cord very tight around his neck. The dr.'s said it was a combination of the 2 that made him have to go to the NICU. If they induce you and you are on magnesium there is automatically a pediatrician at the delivery (at least where i delivered)

All in all, my induction, labor and delivery were not bad at all. They started the cervadil about 7pm on wed and I had him at 10:59pm on thursday. I just had a bad reaction to the magnesium and so did my little guy.
Try and just relax the next few days

Re: Sorry to bother u (Repost from PG)

I was put on bedrest at 34 weeks with severe swelling, high bp that my doctor felt was leading to preecclamsia....I didn't develop protien in my urine till 39 weeks and was induced...all went well. Took a long time for the swelling to decrease

Re: Sorry to bother u (Repost from PG)

I had pre-e and delivered my son at 32 weeks with an emergency c section. i was put on bed rest at 30 weeks with high blood pressure (i was very swollen)...hospitalized at 31 weeks when it went really high and saw other complications at the high risk drs..and delivered at 32 weeks.
if the baby is over 35 weeks and 4lbs then they can leave the nicu...so really i wouldnt worry about it!
