Re: sorry to obsess... WDYT?

The reason why OB's tell you to wait 1 year after a csection is because you can tar your uterus from pregnancy. It is a very real thing and I would be scared for that to happen. You need ot give your body time to heal. Csection is a very serious (and barbaric) surgery in my opinion. Have you ever seen one done on TV? Dear lord it is hgorrible! They're pulling and tugging and they have that huge metal clamp and all your guts are open! It's horrible...lololol I dunno what prmpted me to ever want one....
Anyway with that said. I would juts wait 1 year or just about 1 year to TTC. I would wait at least 10 months b4 TTC.
Your kids will still be pretty close together no?

Re: sorry to obsess... WDYT?

I have the section and daycare things in common with you and our decision was that we did get pregnant again (kids will be 15 months apart) and I will most likely schedule a c-section this time.

My personal reasons for the second c-section (as much as I am dreading the recovery).... I have to be induced due to being on blood thinners and there is a high risk of uterine rupture if you try to induce someone who has had a c-section (especially since my last section was only almost 15 months prior at that point). I asked my doctor - which ultimately is the advice I would offer. He said that it makes the most sense and it's probably best for safety reasons. With DD it took all day till the doctor finally said I need a section (he was good about waiting until it was really not in the baby's best interest to continue not doing a section). I gave birth at night which was like having an extra day in the hospital and I want to be out of the hospital as quickly as possible this time b/c of DD. I also do not want to deal with the emotional disappointment of going all day to only find out that a c-s is necessary. I was tired and so disappointed. I may not love having another c, but at least it's a little more empowering and I don't have to feel the let down. I think overall some of my expectations of everything the first time only led me to disappointments which took away from the experience. This time although some of my decisions are not my ideal choices, I can own them as my own without feeling guilty or disappointed. It's a fabulous thing to have a baby regardless of how they come out and that is my new focus. Some who have had horrible Vag deliveries who later have had sections, swear by c-s.

Honestly to me - a VBAC is not as important as having my kids close in age.

I also will have 2 kids in daycare... I may seek other alternatives to save some cash. Although it was a consideration, this also did not interfere with our decision to move forward.

ETA: I asked my doc at my last post-natal appointment when it would be safe to TTC, my doc did recommend that the 2 sections be a year apart or more. So with that said, they will be a year and 3 months apart. Ask your doctor what is best in your situation.

I really have no interest in VBAC bc I elected my first csection so I would have DC's close together
