Sound Machine.. 2.5 year old should i stop using it?
Hi,
My son is 2.5. Before we moved to our new home, the little guy had no room. So I had him in our room and had a sound machine due to us coming in to go to bed.. However, now we are in a new house and he has his own room. I continue using the sound machine. I am wondering if I should still be using it,if he would actually sleep better with out it. My daughter (5) has always been a wonderful sleeper and she has never had one. I wonder if he would sleep better with out it. Any advice? TIA, Denise

i see no harm in it. the most important thing is that your child gets the best sleep they can get, and if a sound machine does that for you, then so be it. sometimes i sleep with a sound machine, and i'm 35 :O)

DS still sleeps with his radio, he's 2.5. It's noise that blocks out any cars going by or noises that might wake him up. I see no reason to take it away if it gives him a good night's sleep.

I am just not sure if he is sleeping enough. He goes down about 8-8:30 till 6:30-7. and naps for almost 2 hours a day.. Thats good, right at 2.5? I was going to try to take it away to see if he will sleep a litlte later in the morning.. I know i am probably pushing my luck, lol.

(4 and 1 1/2) i think he is sleeping fine..i dont think it will make any difference in his waking up later...but never hurts to try.

DH is 36 and still sleeps with one DD has been using one since the day she was born - we have a small dog and he barks uncontrollably therefore I know we will be using one for a very long time!

Yes, you too.. I am so sorry for my daughter's behavior, I was actually really embarrased and wanted to kill her, lol. Not an excuse, but she was so overtired, I had my inlaws over the ngiht before adn they stayed late. Anyway, i am so sorry for her behavior... I hope she didn't hurt Victoria's feelings.
Re: the sound machine.. Do you leave it pretty low or loud. I am wonderign if I have it too loud. Most times I can hear it across the house in my room.. Could that make a difference.. Also being on the road we are on, because it is so long, a lot of cars travel it.. big trucks.. So I think the machine is good.

I don't think there is any harm in it. Whatever it takes to get them to sleep do it!

We still use a fan for white noise for my daughter, who's almost 4. We use one for my 9 month old too.

I'm 37 and use one every night to drown out DH's snoring, so I don't think there is any harm to it!
