South Seas Island Resort - Captiva Island, FL

Some of you recommended this place. For those of you that have been there, can you tell me what it's like? Does it really have the turquoise waters I love? Does it have any other restaurants or shops near the resort that you can walk to? And final quesiton for now, where is the best place to stay in the resort? We would want to have an ocean view but near the main pool and restaurants. I'm just trying to get a feel for the place. Thanks!

We stayed there this past April. Really beautiful place. We stayed in a regular room which was great location, right by the pool and short walk to the beach. We didn't have an ocean view but one of the harbor that was really nice!

There are a few restaurants on property (all good), and there's also a town a short walk away that has a bunch of good restaurants. The place is super family friendly!

aww love it there! my parents actually just sold their condo they had there because the maintenence got to be too much.. but its gorgeous!!!!!!!!!!!!!! we are devastated that we sold it. they had a condo in the marina villas. i think thats the perfect area to stay in because its close to the main pool, the restaurant, ice cream shop, kids place, beach etc... and then if you want to go anywhere else in the resort, the trolley takes you there... in the beginning of the resort, theres shops, starbucks, a pizza place... then right outside the resort, the trolley takes you also, theres more shops, restaurants, etc. in the resort, the restaurant at the main pool is great. nice atmosphere overlooking the pool and water... you can rent jet skis, etc... the restaurant at the harborside is nice too... theres also a supermarket (small) and deli in the resort too which is convenient... hmm, what else... its beautiful. im so jealous. want to go soon too with ds...

You know what REALLY stinks about this place? I looked into it and to renew wedding vows there is $1,500!!! . That's more than the room itself and then some. We were possibly looking around for something that you wouldn't need passports, but this is outrageous! Most places are between $500-$700 to renew vows.

I am really wanting to go to the Caribbean but having a hard time finding something affordable. Still trying to figure something out. At least it's not for this year!
