Soy Formula - what happens at 1 yr when transitioning to milk?

did you transition to soy?

DS's ped said that many babies who have cow's milk allergies grow out of it by 1yr and to start slowing mixing cow's milk formula with his soy.

We did that and he was a complete mess, fussy, not napping, not sleeping through the night, stomach gurgling.

I have a call in with the ped, but for those who had milk allergies, what did you transition your DC to at 1 yr?

I am still not sure if my DD had/has a milk allergy exactly but she was definetly responding to the whole milk- fussyness, going to the bathroom more often, throwing up, and just not wanting it. when I called the Ped. she said that I could either go back to her formula (Similac Sensitive) or try Soy milk, and then introduce the whole again @ 15 months. she is actually responding better now so i'm not switching yet. not sure if that helps at all.

Madelyn had her dairy allergy confirmed when she was 9 months. When it came time to start milk, we put her on soymilk- SILK Omega-3 to be exact. It's higher in fat and fortified with all the nutrients as milk.

We transitioned to soy milk.
