Spanish Classes for kids
Can anyone recommend a spanish class for kids in Nassau Cty? DH is bilingual, I am not and he would like our children (mainly 6.5yo ds) to learn spanish... It is hard to teach him at home b/c I do not speak.....

There is a place on post ave in westbury called Spanish All Year Long. (theres a website you can look at) I always wanted to send my DD but just didn't have the time. I have know a few people who sent their kids their and they loved it.

I too have only heard of the place the PP listed.
I was also going to suggest that maybe you could get a tutor for your child. You might be able to find someone at a college who is majoring in Spanish or education.
I had a tutor as a child for years, starting around age 6 but I was exposed to the language at home also. The earlier you start the better as the critical period for language "ends" around age 7. That's not to say you can't learn a new language after that, just that it can be a bit more difficult.
ETA: I was tutored 2 hours a week on Saturdays. It wasn't only sitting at a table and being taught - my teacher made it fun with books, stories, songs, and crafts in the 2nd language.
