Specific questions about Britax carseats and small cars
If you have a Britax carseat, do you have a small car? What car do you have? Any problems?
Also, if you have a Britax carseat do you have an older car that doesn't have the latch system to 'strap' the carseat in with the hooks? (Or is it only infant seats that have this hook system?)
Both DH and I have cars, not SUVs and my car is older, so it doesn't have the built in hooks for carseats. We are looking to upgrade my car in the summer to an SUV.
I plan on going to babies r us and checking it out personally, but I'm looking for tips and opinions. TIA!

Re: Specific questions about Britax carseats and small cars
We have a Boulevard and a Wizard (Wizard is the precursor to the Boulevard, so same size). We have a PT Cruiser, so it's not a big car. We have no problems at all with the one seat originally in the middle, or now, with one seat on each side.
We do have the LATCH system, but the seatbelt method is just as safe and secure, as long as they are both done correctly.

Latch hasn't been around that long, and carseats were deemed safe before their existence, so you will be just fine and perfectly safe using the seatbelt I don't know about fit though. There is a website that has a list of the best fitting carseats for different model cars. I'll see if I can find it for you. http://www.carseatdata.org/

Re: Specific questions about Britax carseats and small cars
DH has a 2-door saab (and some of our problems won't reflect 4-door) and has one britax roundabout and will put a second one in there when we are finished with the infant carrier.
1. we don't have the LATCH system either, so once you get it in it's not a problem. LATCH is easier (I have it), but it's only once in a while that you have to do it.
2. Since it's a 2-door car DH has to pull the back of the seat forward AND move the seat all the way up - he doesn't like that
3. FOr DH (6'2) to have enough room in the front, DH has to have DS bend his knees. You can have it on the passenger side, but the same problem for the passenger. We have the older one on the driver side since the infant carrier doesn't give DH enough room. When we put the second roundabout in - we'll put the younger one behind the driver
4. It takes a little bit of strength to get the older one into the seat (he does climb up sometimes though) - but this is a problem with a 2 door.
the seat itself is great - but we would have these issues with any seats and a 2 door. We try to take my car when we go out as a family.
