Speech Question for 24 month old...

My DS just turned 24 months and can sing the ABC's.

My question is, his pronunciation of some of the letters is off... Even when I tell him to mimic me, he still says some of the letters off... for example "u" is "ewww"

I even notice it with some words... "Band-aid" comes out sounding like "dug tay" Chat Icon Chat Icon

For the most part I can understand his speech, but should he be able to mimic my correct pronunciation?

no 2yrs is too early my dd is 2 1/2 i thought the same thing when she was turning 2 she really wasnt talking now she doesnt stop she so many words and phrases its amazing how much she has developed in 6 months but I had her evaluated by speach therapy at the time and she said it was normal at that age...if you look at thier website there are easy suggestions that might help this is the place that evaluated my dd

Re: Speech Question for 24 month old...

Dont worry, thats totally normal. Enjoy it now because one day all their "baby talk" changes!

DS at 2 used to say chicken nuggets and go gies (french fries) it was so cute! And then one day he just started saying french fries, DH and I just looked at each other with sad eyes...it was like our baby wasnt a baby anymore!

But at 3yo there are still mispronunciations.

MY DD is 22 months and pronounces things funny all the time.
I thought it was normal for her age.
