Sperm Analysis! UGH!

So DH went for his second SA and now I am totally confused!!

The first test the doctor said...
count: normal
mobility: below normal (I think 39%)
morphology: low normal

The second test the doctor said...
count: low (6million)
mobility: normal
morphology: below normal (lower than last time)

He said he is concerned about the count now and that DH should see a urologist which is fine. The morphology is somewhat consistent so I can understand that. But it seems like the count and mobility have swicthed roles and now we don't know what to think! I feel like this is just stressing me out instead of being helpful.

Any advice? Similiar experiences??

The count could have been affected by any number of things. Ejaculating closer to the SA than last time, some medicines- things like that. Not sure about the motility, though.

We had two SA too. And the numbers did change a bit. Some went up some went down. Here were our results...

Volume- first time 2.3, second time 2.6
Count- 23.8, 17.4
Mobility- 71%, 58%
Progression- 2, 3
Total Motile Count- 38.9, 26.2
WHO Morph- 24%, 20%
Kruger Morph- 14, 7

I will be going to an HSG tomorrow to make sure there are o blockages in my tubes, and then we'll be doing our first IUI this month.

I will be going to an HSG tomorrow to make sure there are o blockages in my tubes, and then we'll be doing our first IUI this month.

I am going to try to obtain a copy of the results tomorrow so I can have more specific information. I just am frustrated because the first one showed problems with mobility with no count problems and the second showed the opposite. There was a large discrepancy in the count as well. DH also had a few beers the night before the second SA and I don't know if that could have had an effect.

Did your DH go to a urologist?

He didn't go to a urologist, he went to, and we are now dealing with, a male fertility specialist. It's who my OBGYN suggested for us.
As for the beers, I don't know if that makes a big difference or not. My DH had a big boozing weekend before his 2nd SA, so who knows, maybe that does have an effect of some of the numbers.
