Spin-off of Poruss's cake...Has anyone used Costco /BJ's for as christening cake and been happy?
I have used BJ's before for b-day parties and have always been happy ...We always did photo cakes though ...DS#1 and DD's the catering halls provided the christening cakes and they were beautiful...DS #2's does not provide a cake..
Has anyone had a Christening cake done by Costco/BJ's and been happy with it ( sans princess ) ??? Any pics?
We don't have any great bakeries really close by and it will be a pain in the butt to go pick it up that morning (or do bakeries deliver ) The only good one I know somewhat close is Benkhardts in Centereach....
TIA!

I use their cakes for everything and I've always been happy. Also, my friend got their sheet cake from Stop and Shop and it was to die for. SOOOOOO moist and delicious so you might want to look into that too. It's also pretty cheap there!

I read your post, and remembered DS' Christening cake was from Costco. I really had no recollection of it so I went to my pictures. I guess there's a good reason I couldn't remember it, I don't think I ever saw it! I didn't take a picture of it (very unlike me). It did get in one picture taken by someone else. Don't know if there's a cross on it
It looks like it's pretty much the same cake as the one above from MrsO. i should get one of her pics and photoshop it and throw it in DS' album

I literally live around the block from a KK...Don't know why I always forget that the supermarkets do cakes!

Re: Spin-off of Poruss's cake...Has anyone used Costco /BJ's for as christening cake and been happy?
we used costco for our baptism cake. i can't find a pic, but i believe it said god bless benjamin gabriel and we modified the design they had. (blue border and lattice work with a blue diamond in the middle which had the writing on it? i think that's what i remember)
we did not want a cross since most of DHs family is not catholic. we just did a white and blue theme.

I used BJs for DS christening cake. It came out ok, not what I asked them to do but there was a language barrier between us. The ladies on staff didn't speak much english, I don't speak much spanish. I liked it just not what I asked for. Tasted delish though.

We got ours at Costco. I truly can't remember if they now have a cross or not. (Obviously, it's been a few years.) But it is cheap, big and DELICIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!
We get a Costco cake for every occasion and love it every time!

I normally get the BJs cakes. They are really good. Better than I thought they would be. HOWEVER, I bought a cake from Stop and Shop and I will never buy another cake from anywhere else!!!! Sooo Good, they have fresh strawberries in the layered one that I get and people never stop commenting on how good the cakes are at every party I have.
STOP & SHOP is DEFINITELY THE PLACE TO GO !!! (sounds so odd right?)

yes they do sheets and half sheets. Not sure about quarter sheets, but probably. They only need like 24 hrs notice. The lady told me I could even order it that morning to pick up that afternoon, but I dont take chances like that.
sooo good!
