Spin-off to Ron's Olympic Food Post!
Ok - if you HAD to eat one of the things in the pictures and it couldn't be the corn - lol - what would you eat??
Don't answer this is all you're going to say is I wouldn't try anything...
I'd stick with the fried starfish and hope it tasted like fried clams, fried seafood...

Well I guess it would be the fried snake. I would hope it would taste like Chicken. I DO NOT eat seafood, so snake it is. Oh and the bugs, I cant even STEP on a bug that crunches, nevermind eat it.

Well, the corn did look delish!
The fried startfish actually seemed interesting. I'd probabaly try that.
They had squid & clams too, which aren't that strange--people eat them here, I just don't care for them. They were on skewers, I'm hoping that meant they were going to be cooked!

I'm with Gerty. I probably could make a nice tasty meal of squid, clams and snake!!!! All of which I have eaten before (and is quite yummy!)

What is the texture of snake like? I've had alligator, but not snake. I don't know if they are alike at all.

I'd try the bugs and most of the seafood (except sea urchin).

Technically corn is a grain, not a vegetable...

Re: Spin-off to Ron's Olympic Food Post!
Except for the dog (sorry, I can't eat a pet....), I'd try almost everything else. I've had squid, alligator, eel, shark, etc. As long as it's cooked, there's very little I won't try.
Some of the bugs may take me a while to eat, but I would still try them. I figure they're probably good for me, so why not?
I even tried some Durian http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Durian the other day.
The edible flesh emits a distinctive odor, strong and penetrating even when the husk is intact. Regarded by some as fragrant, others as overpowering and offensive, the smell evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust. The odour has led to the fruit's banishment from certain hotels and public transportation in Southeast Asia.
It actually wasn't that bad. Not very good, but I've had worse food....

I agree. I eat cow stew all the time in the winter. What's a little added horse?
