Are you using a conditioner too? Have you tried doing a deep conditioning? I know whenever I go somewhere new my hair freaks with the difference in the water.

Re: Spinoff - Shampoo Question.....

have you tried switching? often that is the trick...

I happen to like the Vive shampoos as a treat to myself, although I have heard great things about Dove

Re: Spinoff - Shampoo Question.....

I've heard from various sources that less is better....shampoo you go do as much as half/half with shampoo/water (to save on some $$)

conditioner: just do your ends....or from the temples down.

are you in need of a trim? I find when I get my hair cut, it's instantly shinier and feels so silky

Have you also tried combing it through your hair and leaving it in your hair for about 10 minutes?? Wrap your hair in a towel and come visit LIF for 10 minutes and then rinsing and seeing if that helps?

I have never found a good moisturizing shampoo but I love Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. I use it once a week and it does make a difference. I also use Aussie Hair Insurance. It's a spray-on leave in conditioner, and I can go for a while between trims if I really concentrate on the ends. I love Aussie stuff.

You don't have to shampoo every time you take a shower. I wash my hair every other shower and just condition the other times. But I also wash as soon as I get in the shower, then put the conditioner in, put my hair up in a clip while I shave and wash, then rinse. I have curly hair so I have to make sure I dont' dry it out.

ETA: Make sure you are only washing your roots and not the tips, too.

Re: Spinoff - Shampoo Question.....

i had really dry hair.

i use phytotherapy conditioning lotion #9

It's expensive, but it lasts forever and it really made a difference.

You can get it @ Sephora and I think it's like 24 bucks.

Re: Spinoff - Shampoo Question.....

Why don't you try a hot oil treatment? You can get a protein treatment done in a salon.. I've done it and my hair always comes out looking so much softer and shinier, but they sell like a VO5 Hot Oil Treatment in the drug store for super cheap... try that.

I say shower, wash your hair, condition.. then use the hot oil treatment, get out of the shower and wrap your hair in a towel turben. Leave it on for like 20 minutes and rinse out. See if you can tell a difference then.

AH! I was just going to suggest that / ask if they really work? I've done those a few times but I guess not frequently enough to see the difference.

Which? the salon Protein treatment or the VO5 Hot Oil ones? I have done the protein treatments maybe 3 times and I def. see a difference. they tell you to do it every 6 months.. but that could be a ploy to clean out my wallet Chat Icon

I haven't done a hot oil treatment in YEARS.. I can't remember if they work, but it can't hurt to try.. you can get it for like 99 cents!

Re: Spinoff - Shampoo Question.....

I think a water filter really makes a HUGE difference! We're getting one soon too - you should see the crud those filters catch (ewww).

I like Pantene for shampoo/conditioner. Also a leave in conditioner can help make your hair not feel so dry.

Re: Spinoff - Shampoo Question.....

Oh also wanted to say - sometimes if you put too much stuff in your hair or too much leave in conditioner in it makes it worse.
