Spinoff-birth control, what form will you be using?
This may seem like a silly question...but for those of you NOT taking the pill, the patch, the shot...what will you use? I have been on bc for a VERY long time (over 10 years) because of my endometriosis and we have decided not to go back on it because of all the side affects I had. What other things can we do, besides just condoms, to prevent from getting pregnant again right away?
TIA!

Well, since it's virtually impossible for us to get pregnant on our own, we'll probably not worry about it at all!!
And if some miracle happens that would be very much welcomed!!

Re: Spinoff-birth control, what form will you be using?
Im thinking about trying the Nuva Ring after the baby is born. Not sure if you can use it while breast feeding. I havent really looked that deep into anything yet.

I am considering having my tubes tied after this baby. But we have not really talked about it yet. Otherwise, I will get another IUD.

Being that this is our 6th child, although our 1st child together...(i have 3 he has 2)...we are opting for the more final bc option of tubal ligation.

I can't be on the pill or patch, etc...
We just used condoms and will most likely resume to condoms after the baby is born.

Re: Spinoff-birth control, what form will you be using?
LOL! I am NOT doing this anytime soon again, so we are NOT using pull and pray!
I think I am going to go back on the pill, I was on it for six years and I didn't have any issues with it. I suggested an IUD to DH, but he got creeped out about it (weirdo ) and I am allergic to latex, so condoms are out.
I just know that I do NOT want to get pregnant again for a LONG time, if ever again!

Re: Spinoff-birth control, what form will you be using?
I am not sure,,,I do not think I can go back on BCP due to the clotting disorder,. I am actually going to talk to the OB tomorrow about this..We do not want to have another baby until MIkayla is at least 2 or 3 so we need to go on something...I am NOT doing pull and pray, no way

Re: Spinoff-birth control, what form will you be using?
IUD for me - although we were half way charting before - it will just be easier with the IUD not having to think about anything.

Re: Spinoff-birth control, what form will you be using?
I used encare. It's a vaginal suppository...basically a spermicide. I plan to go back to it. Not nearly as annoying as condoms, not too expensive and no hormones. I refuse to do hormones.

I plan to BF, so I have to research my options on what is safe for the baby, definitely not pull and pray, don't want another child for at least 2-3 years

I won't use any. I didn't after I had DD, all I did was breastfeed, and that seemed to work for me!

Re: Spinoff-birth control, what form will you be using?
For those using an IUD - just make sure you have it checked all the time. I had one inserted a few years ago & had it checked in January of this year - it was in place. Well, much to my surprise, I got pregnant in April! (I ended up having a miscarriage, though they don't think it had anything to do with the IUD). I had it removed & thankfully was able to get preganant again w/o problem. An IUD doe create scarring in your uterus & is not recommended if you want to become pregnant in the future (once you have it removed). As for me, I am having my tubes tied since I have to have a c-section anyway & we aren't planning on having any more children.
