i disagree 
I don't buy the ones fromt he street because usually you can tell that they are fakes.
Some can be passed off but a large number of them just look like knockoffs.
AND for the most part a really good fake costs over a hundred or so....so why bother. Buy the real thing

just wondering...I have never bought one before, but I am invited to a "bag party" at my friend's house. I know they go to Mulberry and get them. I hate going to parties and not buying anything. DH will die if I lay out 40.00 for a fake.

I have bought one of those $5 purses off the street, but I don't think it qualifies as a "knockoff". I don't think it is a copy of anything, I just liked it because it was cute, red and cheap

I will not buy a logoed bootleg (like a LV or Gucci)
BUT I would buy a non-logoed copy for something like a balenciaga bag, but not off the street- like a macy's knock-off.

YAY! I'm the only one that bought a fake bag off the street! It cost me 30 bucks...not 500. I'm not sinking all my money into a bag that is "in style" for the moment. Besides, I change bags like I change my....um...you get the idea...

I'll admit...I bought a fake LV from a street vendor. The company I work for is owned by LV...I was talking to the CFO one day...and he called me out on my fake...told me I'm helping ruin the name of the brand...I told him to give me a raise so I can afford the real LV's and not the fakes

same here! I have bought from street vendors before, but not the blatant "knock offs".. just something that is cheap and cute (kinda like me )
I'm in the minority, but I am so not into bags for the most part anyhow... so I simply cannot justfity spending hundres of dollars on them. If I see something cute, I buy it .. irregardless of the name on it

I have a couple, but I got them because they were cute. One's a Gucci knock-off, and I don't even like real Gucci. I also bought a Fake Spade, and took the label off because it was embarrassingly phony.
I think I paid 15 for 1 and 10 for the other, can't beat that price. But since I heard that some of that money funds terrorism, I decided not to buy any more. I think it's really more tourists who buy them.

I just can't do it - I also can't bring myself to wear fake jewelry. I don't consider myself stylish and don't switch bags often, so for me it pays to ante up for the quality of a real bag.
If the quality is the same that is...
I will hit sample sales anywhere I see I good one.

I'm SO not into designer bags though. And EVERYONE and ANYONE has them, so why bother? You never know who has the real deal or a knock -off. Its not worth it to me.
I got a LV dog carrier... and that was for traveling purposes.. thats the ONLY designer bag i have.
i DID however get my 12 yr old sister a fake Coach bag.

I have never bought any. Even if you could not tell it was fake, I would still know.
With all the fake Louies out there, I hate wearing my real ones.
