Bootlegs
of CD's and DVD's...
a co-worker has STAR WARS return of the sith...
i am soo tempted but i really want to see it in the movie theater...
So do you think buying bootlegs is wrong?

Ethically, I don't think it is wrong from the buyers side
From the sellers side, if the copy is not good that is wrong. 
cd's I have no problem buying, DVD's I am more leary of since so many times the visual is off.

I don't think is wrong because if there is a demmand for it, there is obviously a market.
We actually watched star wars from a bootleg dvd at my husband's inlaws.
We were going to go see it at the movies, but it's just too difficult for us to actually go to the movies.
It was pretty good for a bootleg, I might say.

there was a big write up or story about the Star Wars boot leg copies. where there was graphic things in the middle of the show that didnt belong there. I think the story came out on Friday when they busted a place for it

I think it's stealing...just because you didn't make the copy or sell it doesn't make it ok to buy it. IMO that's like saying it's ok to buy drugs but not sell them.

UMMM, when buyers KNOW its not an authrized copy they are JUST as much at fault.

I think SELLING and BUYING bootlegs is wrong, yes, IMO.
TRADING them, on the other hand.... well... that's less of an offense, IMO
DH and I watched Return of Sith from the comfort of our bedroom last friday but we didn't "buy" a bootleg copy.
We still plan to go see it in the theatre and purchase the DVD when it comes out.
