I gave them $20 since they delivered some very large and heavy packages in the past three months to my house.

no, we haven't gotten that many this year
but when we lived in a building and DH got alot of stuff we would tip the doorman extra

i mean this with the utmost respect, but wow you northeasterners seem to tip everyone!  i have never heard of anyone down south tipping the UPS guy or even the mailman for that matter.

Nope, in the 3.5 years I've lived in my house, I've never met the UPS person. Although he does send us a card subtely asking for a tip.

If he ever rang my bell before leaving the packages, or didn't leave them on my front steps in inclement weather, maybe I would consider it.

Yes. I live in a 3rd floor walk-up on a street with NO parking. We got a crib, dresser, and baby items galore delivered..he was my savior this past 9 months!

I'm originally from upstate and the tipping thing was new to me, too. Could it be a tri-state area thing?
