it really all depends on what layout you decide and what purpose the room will serve (infrequent or frequent use). since there are some many straight lines in the room, i would opt for furniture with soft and graceful lines paired with an oval coffee table.

use an online room planner to play around with different layouts and scale of items.

you could always bring pictures and the room dimensions to a furniture store for experienced advice. another great option is to hire a designer or a home stager (minimal fee) to come to your house for a consultation.

With that, I read your other post and LOVED the idea of the L-shaped couch coming out from the wall (opposite the kitchen) and the TV above the fireplace. I think it will be fine there, but I too think you should have it professionally installed.
