I appreciate the work that has gone into some of them (I do enjoy watching Miami Ink and their artwork is amazing), but for the most part, I don't find them appealing on people...especially older folks. Tattoos don't age well.
This is totally true. I used to be repulsed at my grandfather's arms. They were tattoos from WWII and naked ladies and anchors. They were green and wrinkly!

I have one, don't regret it. I was young and having the time of my life. However I have no desire for more and I don't particularly like to see people covered with them. But as they say, to each his own!!!
Could've written this myself!! Also, I'm sure that the many tattoo artists are happy that so many people are getting them, even if it's a "dad!"

I love them.
But, hate it when people seem to have some for no reason.

Re: Spinoff from Tattoos - how do you feel about them?
I don't have any- they are not for me.
But I am completely indifferent about the subject on other people.
I don't have any feelings one way or another about them on other people. I have never even thought about it when I see them on others.

Re: Spinoff from Tattoos - how do you feel about them?
I like them for every one else. I think they are nice. Some are real works of art.
As for myself, hellz no! I am so picky and constantly changing things at home. I know I would forever regret it.

I like them when they are tastefully done and placed. I think they look better on men than on women, for the most part.

I love them, but I hate that they are fad. A lot of people that are very deep into the tattoo culture I think feel that way. It is almost like when my MIL gets POed at the people who just go to church on holidays....it is a different level of meaning for her.
Hope I did not offend
I have to agree with this. I have one, got it when I was 18, and now regret it. I didn't get one because I was deep into the tattoo culture, or because it had special meaning to me...which is probably why I regret it.

Re: Spinoff from Tattoos - how do you feel about them?
I wanted one when I was younger, but now I have changed my mind. A lot of tattoos look good when you first get them, then after a while they look faded. Especially ones with color in them. Also, I would never get a "trendy" tattoo, since some get outdated.
Oh, and they definetly don't age well, as someone else posted. They do look good on some people.

Re: Spinoff from Tattoos - how do you feel about them?
I have 4 tattoos and I like them.
I only have issues with tattoos in two situations.
1)When people tattoo their own name on themselves. Do they need a reminder?
2)When people tattoo words in a foreign language that they dont speak or understand.
I have a friend who walks around and wonders why Chinese people are always saying her name - She's not Chinese.

Re: Spinoff from Tattoos - how do you feel about them?
I like them when the artwork is well done. I like when it is a skilled drawing/work of art.
I hate when people have the same design as everyone else or when they have something that really is not significant to them. If you know nothing about Chinese or Japanese culture or language, why use their letters? And because it has become too common, I don't like seeing the barbed wire around people's arms. It was an interesting tattoo to get when no one else was doing it.
