Spinoff from the moving to bed post
Anyone ever move their toddler to a toddler bed just cold turkey?
Even at the lowest setting the crib is so high from the floor without a rail to stop her from falling out.
I couldn't justify the $80 that BRU wanted for a convertible crib rail ... for what? a few months?
So we bought her a toddler bed. figured we'd get another year or so out of that.
Set it up and its all ready for when she comes home (She's been at my aunt's during our move)
So has anyone just gone cold turkey? What do you do to keep them from hurting themselves when they fall out?

We took Lily right from her crib and put her in a twin bed. We put it up against a wall on one side and put the rail on the other side so she can't fall out. It's been a few months and we haven't had a problem. She won't even get out without us coming in to get her.

Re: Spinoff from the moving to bed post
We transitioned DS directly to a full size bed. Just a few weeks before we transitioned him, we went on vacation and he slept in a twin bed (for the first time) without a bed rail. He fell off the bed a few times the first few nights but got used to it.
