Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the pitocin the night before. PLEASE COME IN
I was induced at night, but the pitocin doesn't come until the morning. I was given Cervadil the night before, then Pitocin in the morning around 8ish. DH stayed all night. The labor room had a pull out reclining chair and we brought him an extra pillow and they gave him a blanket. He brought pjs and we were all good.

I just edited this post thank you so much for the corrections..
The real reason i want him to go home is he has sleep apnea.. he has the machine and sleeps with it EVERY night.. I will not let him sleep with out it.. #1 he can have a heart attack and #2 he would snore so loud I would kill him.. This is why I am afraid he wont hear the phone if he is home and what if there is no time for him to get back.. Its only 15 min from my house but you never know .. I am so torn here.. Also he is embarrassed to wear that mask in front of people.. So he would insist he is ok to sleep w/out it and then snore his head off..

Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the cervadil the night before. PLEASE COME IN
DH stayed with me and I was so glad he did since I started feeling strong contractions at 3:30a and my water broke at 4a. I needed the support!
ETA: We live 45 minutes from the hospital.

This is true. It happened to me. The first round didn't work. The 2nd did. My DH stayed with me the entire night. I'm glad he did because I ended up having an emergency c-section at 6:30am

I didn't have cervadil overnight, I had it in the morning, but I have to say I think I would have him stay with you. Things could end up progressing pretty fast. I also needed him to help me up to the bathroom, unhook me from the machines etc.
And besides, who would you get to yell at if your DH wasn't there?! That was the main reason I had him there - I had to take everything out on him!

Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the cervadil the night before. PLEASE COME IN
I was going to send him home, then I had a change of heart and didn't want to be in the hosptial alone. When we got there the nurse said he should plan on staying (he had a back packed for himself anyway), they already had a bed set up for him when we got there.
Also, neither one of us got very much sleep anyway that night. I was having mild contractions and was very uncomfy all night.

Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the cervadil the night before. PLEASE COME IN
I sent DH home-in hindsight, I don't know what I was thinking.
I guess I just assumed the real action wouldn't happen until the next day or, that if I went into labor it would last for a while and he would have time to get there before anything major?
This round, I'll probably have him stay (unless we have no one to watch DD, but I'm pretty sure my MIL and mom will be coming down again).

Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the cervadil the night before. PLEASE COME IN
I sent dh home. We only lived 20 minutes from the hospital so I knew he would make it in time. Plus I was not dilated at all when they put the cervidel in. There was a chance it could send me into labor but given the state of my cervix it was a very slim chance. So dh went home and tossed and turned all night and I laid in the hospital tossing and turning. We will do the same this time.

My husband stayed with me until the baby was born. Once I was transferred to Maternity, husband visiting hours ended at 10 PM.

Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the cervadil the night before. PLEASE COME IN
DH stayed with me. They had a pullout couch he slept on,, but I laughed when you talked about the snoring b/c the doctors and residents came in to check on me (delivered at Columbia, which is a teaching hospital so there were always a million people with the doctor) and they were talking about me and what was going on and my DH was snoring so loud that they couldn't hear each other - the dr. turned to me and said "how do you sleep with this?!" I had to throw a pillow at DH to wake him up so the doctors could talk!

Have him stay. I went into labor with cervadil alone and had DH listened to the doctors he would have left as that is what they advised him to do.
Tell him he is in a hospital with medical professionals all around so no need to be embarassed about wearing a mask.
Good luck

Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the cervadil the night before. PLEASE COME IN
Well, I was sent to the hospital to be monitored bc my BP was high. DH was there with me. They decided to induce me and the cervedil was placed at midnight. He went home after that and didn't come back until like 10am the next day
But, he wanted to get some sleep as he had worked the day before and we have a dog too...
DS was born 9:59pm and he went home around midnight that day too

Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the cervadil the night before. PLEASE COME IN
I had to go into the hospital at 7 pm on Sunday night to start the cervadil (which they didn't start until almost 915 by the time everything was all set). They told me it would take 12 hours to really take effect. So I told my DH to go home around midnight and I would rest and he could come back in the morning. Well it turns out my water broke on its own at 315 am so DH had to come back. Good thing we are 15 min from the hospital.
I am sure that is not the norm but just our experience.

I was given Cervadil the night before, then Pitocin in the morning around 8ish.
DH was also going to stay the night but I told him not to worry that I will be fine and incase of anything the nurses had his number.
My doctor told me the chances of me going into labor on cervadil was low. If you feel comfortable with him there then ask him to stay. HTH

Re: *SPINOFF Girls who are getting inductions or have had the cervadil the night before. PLEASE COME IN
dh stayed w me all night. this was my first child and the nurses told me if its your first, the chances of you going into labor with just the cervadil are very slim. if you're afraid you'll go into labor i'd have dh get over his embarassment of wearing the mask in front of people and stay with you all night...this only happens once!

DH stayed the whole night with me when the cervadil was put in. We didn't know what was going to happen- and I didn't want to risk him not being there if something happened.

We must be married to brothers, but DH won't use the machine at all!!
DH stayed with me at the hospital (I was induced at night), and I used ear plugs...yes, you heard me ear plugs. His snores wake the dead!!
The drugs they give you help you sleep, too, so don't worry about that.
Also, you are in a private birthing room, so tell him to bring his mask. Insist on it!!!

My husband stayed with me all night. If we had a baby at home, it might have been different but he didn't want to miss a minute. He was there for me the entire time.

I had cervadil at 5pm and DH stayed the whole night. He left at 6 am to go shower and get some things and as soon as he left my water broke, pain came and I started to dilate......so this time he is sticking around

I got the cervadil overnight but he stayed with me for a little while after I got the it and then left. He set his cell phone alarm, regular alarm and then both moms call him to make sure he was up. We only live 15 mins from the hospital so he could have gotten to me quickly if I went into labor earlier.
