i'm still working on it, but I'm going for a silly spooky theme, so I got all of these haunted house type signs, an eyeball pinata, eyeball window clings, and DVDs that play spooky music and show ghosts and scary messages on the TV.
ETA: for the candy in the pinata, I got this chocolate that is wrapped like yucky body parts!
I'll try to find pics of some stuff I bought. I spent a fortune at party city!
I need help with games and some good halloween themed drinks!

i got ornage christmas lights, a fog machine, a cat for the wall, a skeleton for the wall, a hige clear door cover that has blood drippings that says "keep out", spiderwebs, a red light for the living room and blacklights for the bathroom
and we're gonna make a bunch of ack o lanterns
i want more though.

We threw a halloween party last year and some of the things we did were:
blood punch---red fruit punch with vodka and had bugs and google eyes floating around in a cauldron
spider cupcakes
tons of black lights replace regular light bulbs
wrote all over mirrors
filled bathtub with cool aid blood red food coloring
spider webs
fog machine
tomb stones on the front lawn
blood candles
scary music throughout the whole house
we had a costume contest
and more but that is all I can think of now

The last time I had a Halloween party, we made homemade pretzels in the shapes of fingers and used almonds for the dried up, old fingernails. THey were awesome!

It was a DVD called Shawn of the Dead----it is a horror/ comedy and it was funny because my husbands name is sean---but you could do anything you wanted

As far as food
you can serve tons of appetizers----nacho dip, pizza bagels, pigs in the blanket, cupcakes, chips and dips, shrimp cocktail, baked ziti, ect......dont be cooking all night, I always make that mistake!!!!Costco is a great source of party food!

A good bottle of liquor is what we would give out
We had a heaven/hell theme one year.
One side of the house was all reds, oranges and yellow
The other side was all white, blue and silver
Huge hit!

We're not really doing a theme. It's the "Sp___ (the rest of our last name) Spooktacular", b/c it sounds cute together.
You don't need a theme, don't worry.

last year i tried phylo dough ghosts. they didnt look like ghosts, but they tasted gooood!
