Spinoff on holiday traditions
What do you for the holidays when dh or you are the only child? My inlaws and parents live 6 hours apart. I know we are going to get a guilt trip from dh's parents if we don't spend it with them becasue they will be all alone. But i can't spend every holiday with them.

Re: Spinoff on holiday traditions
my DH is an only child
and now his parents moved to florida- but of course no where need my dad- they moved to the pan handle and my dad lives in palm beach co
so we told them that this year we are going to see my Dad and we can see them on easter
they understood- we can't be in 2 places at once and I refuse to be split up- that is not why I got married

Re: Spinoff on holiday traditions
I am an only child. The last few years my parents have been at their house in Vegas, so they ditched me! We would go to my FIL's house for a while and the end up at my aunts house.
This past summer my FIL passed away and his mom passed away 10 years ago so he really has no obligations anymore.
My parents are staying in NY this year and we are going to their house for Xmas. We all plan on going to vegas next Xmas.
