spinoff on size of "bringing home baby outfit"
How many newborn outfits do you think we need? They only go up to 8lbs so I'm not sure how many to buy!!
Also post pics of your bringing home outfit!! I still haven't got one yet.

Re: spinoff on size of "bringing home baby outfit"
I still haven't gotten one yet. I know my mom wanted to get it and she will probably give it to me at my shower (whenever that is).
I don't have any newborn clothes. I know so many people who said it was a waste. My cousin gave me two outfits, just in case I can use them. I will just put in 0-3 mos from the beginning. I look at it this way...even if they are a little big, at least you can use them longer.

I only have one newborn outfit, it was a gift. I will bring that to the hospital and I don't plan on getting anything else newborn- at this point he's looking like he's going to be well over 8 pounds anyway.

You would be surprised how little 8 lbs really is. When you think 8lbs you think chubby little 8lb chicken or something. Newborns are usually scrawny!!! A newborn outfit, for me anyway, with both kids would have fit until they were 1 to almost 2 months old. And both my kids were 7lbs 15oz and 7lbs 8oz.

My daughter didn't fit in newborn ever -- she was born at 9 lbs. She was out of the 0-3 mos clothes at 6 weeks!!

Hi Charly!
I dont buy more then just a few newborn, as Calla said.. my babies were also in 3-6 months pretty quickly. I also put everything in the dryer so everything tends to shrink a little. I pretty much have them in 3 months from the beginiig

Re: spinoff on size of "bringing home baby outfit"
My boys were 4 weeks early and we brought them home in a newborn outfit but had to do a lot of rolling of the sleeves and pants. I went out and brought preemie outfits and within 4 weeks (today was my actual due date) they are no longer wearing them. babies grow FAST! I would get about 10 NB outfits because you do wash about every other day. Then i would get more 0-3 months since they will last you longer.

I wouldn't go too crazy with the newborn outfits. You could always buy more once your baby is here. I got tons of newborn stuff at my shower, and my DS was 9 pounds 7 ounces, so he wasn't in them for too long. I would buy a lot of 0-3 month stuff instead.
