Spinoff on West Nile Spraying
Where are they spraying tonight? Only Nassau or both Nassau and Suffolk? Did they already spray Suffolk? I'm a little out of the loop as you see...

Re: Spinoff on West Nile Spraying
I heard they are doing isolated spraying in Nassau tonight - and that they did the same in Suffolk 2 weeks ago.
I wish i would have known that 2 weeks ago!!
I'm not sure what towns in Nassau though.

Re: Spinoff on West Nile Spraying
All towns South of the LIE, North of the Southern State, from the Queens border to Seaford.
They did spray just isolated areas in Suffolk, not widespread like this.

Re: Spinoff on West Nile Spraying
Is anyone going to wrap their A/Cs? DS has RSV and I am pretty sure that the Dr recommended that we try to keep the A/Cs as free from the sprays as possible. She did not specify this in particular, but a couple of months ago when we were going to spray for ants she told us to wrap the outside of the A/C units as a precaution.
I would have liked to have more than one day's notice. I think we should let Suozzi know that.

Would you believe my neighbors WENT AWAY and left ALL (yes, ALL) their windows wide open????
What bothers me most is, their cat is in the house! I saw her sitting by the window. I think someone is coming on and off to feed her, but I haven't seen anyone. And now with this spraying, it really bugs me they are so carefree and their kitty will be breathing this all in.

Would you believe my stupid neighbors WENT AWAY and left ALL (yes, ALL) their windows wide open????
They often do things like this, for somre reason, they must think we live in lala land where burglaries don't happen.
What bothers me most is, their cat is in the house! I saw her sitting by the window. I think someone is coming on and off to feed her, but I haven't seen anyone.
They are ignorant idiots, I can't take it. How do you go away for DAYS and leave your windows WIDE OPEN (ALL OF THEM< BOTTOM AND TOP FLOOR)??? They think nothing bad can happen, they don't worry about rain getting in, or someone going in to steal their stuff or their pet!!! And now with this spraying, it really bugs me they are so carefree and their kitty will be breathing this all in.
Really? I can't believe that they would do that! I would NEVER leave my windows open if I wasn't home, nevermind on vacation. I really feel bad for their cat. Do they live in Nassau County? BTW us in Suffolk can we be contaminated by the Nassau spraying?

What is RSV?
We plan to do this, b/c my two large ones are in the windows. So I am wrapping the outside and wrapping/taping up the inside on those.
My two small ACs (in our bedrooms) we are pulling in since they are lightweight. B/w me being pg and DH's asthma, I don't want to get my ACs all filled with bug spray. I am sure i being OVERLY cautious as usual, but I just can't help it.

info on RSV: RSV Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the most common cause of bronchiolitis and pneumonia among infants and children under 1 year of age. Illness begins most frequently with fever, runny nose, cough, and sometimes wheezing. During their first RSV infection, between 25% and 40% of infants and young children have signs or symptoms of bronchiolitis or pneumonia, and 0.5% to 2% require hospitalization.
DS was hospitalized for 3 days with RSV in Feb and his ped said it can be re-curring up until 2 yrs of age.
