Spinoff: Preschool class bday party invite question?

DD is in a class with 18 kids. 5 are girls (including DD). I invited the girls, and one boy (who she has had playdates with, and he was in her class last year). But she wants one other boy to be invited. She doesn't talk about any of the other boys, and quite frankly, I don't want to invite the whole class. It's just too much.

So, can I invite this one other boy? Is that bad?

I think as long as you don't use the school as the means to send out the invites, you can invite whomever you want. If you hand the teacher the invites to give to the classmates, you really need to only invite everyone, or just one gender.
