Re: Spinoff: Sunglasses.......
I have always bought cheapos, because they get scratched & broken. But then I bought a pair of LuLu Guiness (I never spent so much on sunglasses!!!) and loved them. Since then I have bought a few other expensive ones. But all because of trendiness.

Re: Spinoff: Sunglasses.......
I used to buy $10 and $20 sunglasses all the time, and I would lose them and break them.
Then I got a pair of Prada's for my bday 2 years ago, and they are still in perfect condition, I guard them with my life. So, for me, I think it's the fact that I know how pricey they were makes me take better care of them.

Re: Spinoff: Sunglasses.......
I have $180 pair of Coach glasses that I adore and I have been wearing them for the past year. I bought them bc I liked how they looked on me...I am careful with my things and I try not to lose them...they are definitely well made, and are much more durable that regular $ glasses. I have to say though that I dropped them a few times and they scratched only a little bit and in one place where the impact was strong. Other than that, yes, I feel that they are a much better quality and protect my eyes from sun than inexpensive glasses.

I use sunglasses more to hold my hair back off my face than anything else, so they subsequently get lost a lot. I don't pay more than $80 for mine.
Same here, I like to keep my hair out of my face so I use them for that mostly...and I always lose them, so I never get expensive ones. If I took better care of them (didn't lose every pair I have), then maybe I'd spend some $ on a good pair.
Sounds exactly like me.
DH can never understand why and how I keep losing them

for me, lense quality is much more important than a name. my eyes are very sensitive and I need them to be polarized. that said, the most I have spent to date was $250 on the Maui Jim's I currently own. I've had them for more than 4 yrs. Mine broke last year and MJ sent me a brand new pair for free.

I just got these! and i love them I had my oakleys for years and upgraded to the maui jims - I take care of my sunglasses and im very picky so i like the more expensive kinds - they last and they can be fixed or replaced

Re: Spinoff: Sunglasses.......
I have Coach, but they are prescription. They have the most comfortable frames IMO and I never get the bump on my nose or the pressure that I have gottem with other prescription sunglasses.
I also had a pair of Ferragamo for the same reason, but did not look good in this year's line
