I'll go back to the '70's. I went to rock clubs such as The Fields in Sunnyside, Queens; Rumbottoms in N. Massapequa; and Beggars' Opera in (I think) Bayside, Queens.

I saw some really good bands, some of whom specialized in certain rock groups. For example, "Dr. Jimmy" specialized in The Who. "Heresy' in Jethro Tull. "Crystal Ship" in The Doors.

Lime Light- I think thats what it was called that church

Actually, we all called it "Slime Light"

I grew up in the city - so I went everywhere - I was really into the rave scene, so I'd wind up in random weird places... I loved Sound Factory

I hung out mostly in bars - lots of gay bars, mostly, but worked in a lot of clubs - I worked at a place called the Bank... I went to Slime light with friends because all my friends worked there... There was a time when I never saw day light because I was up at bars and after hour places all the time. It was actually sort of a dark time in my life... It was fun, but looking back, it was full of a lot of shady people...

I don't remember when in the 80's - but at various times I hit up the following with my fake ID:

Malibu
OBI
Limelight
CBGB's
Sundance

Going away to college turned me on to dive-y little pubs over clubs so I was a big fan of local bars.
