Spinoff to a post-Re: Paint

Can you paint while pregnant?

I hear mixed ones on this and with a house being renovated, I want to help and painting is something I can do but I have EVERYONE telling me "absolutely NOT".

So I do nothing.

My Dr said no, unless you are outside & wear a mask.

I tried to paint my nursery, but even with the mask on & all the windows open & the fan on I almost puked from the fumes.

I was able to whitewash with no problem though.

I painted but I just made sure that the windows were open and took breaks. Ventilation is key! I just couldnt sit around while we were doing the babies room, I had to help!
We did have to polyurethane some wood trim and I didnt go near that.. I think regular paint is ok.. Just know your limits and take breaks..

We painted my entire house when I was PG with DS#1, however, we had every window in the house open AND I was wearing a mask. I also took frequent breaks to go outside for fresh air.

I'm planning on painting this weekend. Lots of open windows and a mask for me.

Re: Spinoff to a post-Re: Paint

I painted our dining room and helped with the baby room during my pregnancy. Just make sure all the windows are open for ventilation and it is fine.
