This is a great idea! The one thing I'd add is how young they take them (that's my main problem right now is finding one that takes an infant - everything I see is 2+ )

Name of Daycare: Miss Debbies
Age range: Infants and up
Town: Plainview (they also have a location in S. Huntington)
Monthly Cost: $425 per week
Hours of Operation: I think 8-6
Would you recommend? If not, why? It has been my favorite by far. It's expensive, but I left with the best feeling. If they were open until 7, I would def send my DC there. The place was immaculate, the teachers were friendly, they seemed to have a huge emphasis on education and not just all fun and games.

Name of Daycare: Kiddie Academy
Age range: Infants to 5 years; kindergarten and after school programs.
Town: Hicksville
Monthly Cost: Ranges from $244 - 351 depending on the age of the child and if you do earky drop off/late pick up. $75 annual registration fee.
Hours of Operation: I think 6:30am - 7pm
Would you recommend? If not, why? I went yesterday and really liked it. Not as much as Miss Debbies, but a close second. I am going to check out the one in Syosset on Friday.

Name of Daycare: Teacher's Pet
Age range: Infants and up
Town: Plainview
Monthly Cost: $250 per week
Hours of Operation: I think 8-6
Would you recommend? If not, why? It's run by a fellow LIF'er who was super nice! The price is awesome, but they werent opened late enough for me.

Monthly Cost: For extended hours it ranges between $244 - $292 depedning on age
Hours of Operation:6:30am - 7pm
What is the youngest age they take? 6 wks
Would you recommend? If not, why? I liked it here better than the one in Hicksville. It was a little smaller and less chaotic and I thought the people were friendlier.

Here's also a websit where you can check to see if a daycare in NYS has had violations.

I know Tutor Time takes them as young as 3 months. That's where I'm headed, most likely.

It is a brand new facility and I loved what I saw. My little brother (yup I have a 3 yr old brother) goes to the one in Stony Brook and my dad raves about it.

Emma goes here and I love it as does she. She's alll smiles when she walks in! My ped. has a child in the Stony Brook one and she loves that one also

I liked this place - they seemed well-organized and the women in the infant room had been there for 10+ yrs

WOW...I cannot beleive how expensive day care is in NY. Down here in NC it's about $180 a week and I thought that was a lot!

Has anyone actually toured them, I was almost in tears at the fact that my baby will be in there soon enough
