Spinoff to Black Friday
Does anyone else hate that some of the stores are open on Thanksgiving? Do I really need a DVD player that day?

I honestly could care less who is open on Thanksgiving....I'm not out shopping so who cares! It stinks for the people who have to work though

Honestly, I think it's disgusting that stores are open on Thanksgiving. I doubt that many people volunteer to work on Thanksgiving, so many people are forced to give up a holiday with their family. I just don't like it.

I don't "hate" it, but I feel really badly for their employees.
I heard some stores like CompUSA are opening at 9pm tonight - 12am and then again at 5am tomorrow

I don't hate it, but I think any store that is open should be closed by 3 or 4 so that the people who have to work can be home with hteir families for dinner. My S/O works that day and he is usally very busy, but they close at 3pm.

my friend is a Jehovah's witness, and she and her family dont celebrate it.

My friend works part time at the Body Shop at the King of Prussia mall in PA and she had to be at work at 5:30am this morning!
When I used to work at Sunken Meadow golf course, we used to be open until about noon. I would go in at about 6am and stay til noon. I was living at home at the time, so it didn't really bother me too much as I just had to shower and get ready.
