SPinoff to camera post: does anybody use
the kodak machines in shop rite. I know they also have these machines at drug stores, etc.
You put in your memory card, select the pics that you want, and they spit out of the machine.
Ok. Everytime I use this machine, the color of my pics are off and my pics look kind of grainy. Does this happen to anyone else?
I have a Canon Elph sd400.
Also, is the problem the machine or the camera?
Thx.

I personally have never seen good pictures from the Elph
Can you try another place? (CVS has a great photo station too)

Well, this is the other problem I ran into. My computer is older and will not accept the software for my camera...so I can't go online..

Re: SPinoff to camera post: does anybody use
you can get a media card reader that you hook up to your computer. then you can put the card into the reader and transfer the pics onto your computer that way. you can get them pretty cheap-i think about $20 at best buy. maybe that will help solve your problem.

My best friend has an Elph and gets beautiful pics from it--much like Karissa's! Don't give up, it is probably their machine.

Have you tried the picture maker at CVS? I used it once and it worked pretty well. They have coupons in their weekly ads too usually.

Re: SPinoff to camera post: does anybody use
I did it at CVS. If the pics weren't going to come out right it warned me ahead of time and it had a lot of options to edit the photo. This wasn't one where the machine spit the prints out, they printed them in the regular machines behind the counter. The ones directly form teh memory card were very good. The ones from a CD were really bad. Even though the images looked fine on screen and at home, the printing was awful, very grainy, way off color. But it did warn me. I guess it's hit or miss ETA: I just ordered a new printer that reads memory cards directly w.o needing a computer at all. It was $259 and it's an all in one...I'll let you know how it works

Re: SPinoff to camera post: does anybody use
I have a Canon and it's awesome. Personally, I prefer to print pictures at Shutterfly. However, it you need something quick, I would download the pictures to your computer, burn it to a CD, then bring the CD into the store.

Re: SPinoff to camera post: does anybody use
The memory card is better for finrting in general because they pics will be in .raw format, which is a lot more detailed than >.JPG, which is what most people use if they're trying to fit many images on a CD

Thx! But, we have two printers and one is almost brand new. Plus, can't afford to get another one right now..
I am still interested to see how it works though
