Spinoff to Destination Wedding - Did you give a gift
If you went to one, did you give a gift and if so, how did it compare to what you would give at a wedding here.

Not a traditional destination wedding but my cousin got married in North Carolina 4 months before my wedding although he and his wife live in NYC. Anyway since we had to shell out for airfare ($400) and lodging I gave a little less than usual. When they came to my wedding they gave the same exact present and left before the cake was cut.

we went to Jamaica for my hubby's bestfrend's wedding and we gave a very generous gift along with going in the trip. This has been is best friend since kindergarten and he gave VERY generously to us at our wedding so we returned the favor.

I gave the same gift as I would normally give.
For my friend's wedding in Maryland, I did knock it down a little bit more because I had speeding tickets to pay for.

I've never been to one but I always thought that your presence was the "gift".
Although I'd want to give a gift if I was invited to one, so I am no help!
