Spinoff to districts - moms who rent....
Anyone concerned they may not know what district they will be in once kindergarten rolls around?
I LOVE where I live, but if we have another baby, we would only be able to live here for so long until we need more room, and I want to stay around were I am, but you never now when you rent.....
Anyone else have this concern?

I do!! Well not so much K, mainly for Nicholas right now. We rent a fantastic house and I love DS's district thus far. Our lease is up in February though, so I'm hoping the LL will renew at a "reasonable" rate because I would hate to move. Especially since DS gets a TON of services so flip flopping makes things really hard. IF we had to move, I'll look for something in the same district. I do peruse Craig's List just to see if there is an abundance of homes in the area and it's hit or miss at times.

I rent. But this doesn't concern us....you can also use this as an advantage, you can rent in a good district even if you can't afford to buy there.

Re: Spinoff to districts - moms who rent....
We felt the same way. It's one of the reasons we bought a house before DS started kindergarten. Ok the other reason is we hated the d@mn hill
In terms of room, the space is workable. My sister made it work (obviously she's never getting kicked out). She finished the basement in her apartment, so that's a pseudo living room/playroom. It's not ideal but you could do it.
When we moved from the apartment to the house, we would up with even less space. Now we have a smaller 3rd bedroom & lost a 1/2 bath.
You may wind up in a catholic school kindergarten as our district doesn't have full-day. The Catholic schools open earlier & stay open later. We switched Joseph out of Catholic school to public school after 2 months. They tend to roll with the changes more than you think.

that's my take.
I could NEVER afford to live in my neighborhood....so I rent, in a great district, where I don't pay the taxes.
