can i build on this - is there a baby/infant benadryl or do they use the regular/adult kind??

From what I understand, a child should not have Benadryl until at least 1 years old. If there is an allegric reaction to food, bug bite, etc. call the ped ASAP and they will tell you how much to give based on weight. HTH!

There is a Children's Benadryl. Infant Benadryl was discontinued.

I gave Jaidy Benadryl when she was about 7 months old. It was after we took her to the ER when she had an allergic reaction.

We gave Benedryl at 9 months old due to an allergic reaction. 1/2 a teaspoon.

I asked about benadryl when DS had horrible eczema and cradle cap and was so itchy .The ped said they do not usually give it until 2 years of age.

We keep children's Benedryl in the house.

Same here, we upped her dose to 1 tsp after her 2nd b-day.

Our ped said not before 6 months unless it was an emergency situation. I have a dosage chart from out peds office based on weight (for children's benadryl)...
10-15lbs 1/2 tsp
16-21 lbs 3/4 tsp
22-27 lbs 1 tsp
28-32 lbs 1 1/4 tsp
33-38lbs 1 1/2 tsp
