spinoff to fat and no frat party--Great Adventure Rides
I always felt bad for the people who waited on line the long ride at Great Adventure just to find out infront of everyone they were too big for the ride. They need to put a sign at the enterance of line saying what the seat side is. This happens to somone every time i go there. I feel horrible for them.

Some places will put a sample seat at the beginning of the line. I wish more places did this.
We're going to Universal Studios in December, and I'm scared this is going to happen to me....

Great Adventure has a seat at the front of the line for most of their major rides, you can sit in it and "try on" the harness. If you're too big, you know not to bother getting on the line.
I do feel bad tho, they should make a few seats bigger!!

Some places also have a 'fat row' on the coasters, etc where the seats in that row are bigger.
But it is still pretty demeaning to sit there - they have to kick a normal person out of the fat row so you can sit there... meanwhile everyone on the line watches.

Re: spinoff to fat and no frat party--Great Adventure Rides
When I had been heavy (and I was HEAVY) I wouldnt even go on the lines to begin with. I was very conscious about my body and how much space it actually occupied before I would put myself in a position to be humiliated by or in front of someone else.
Every time I went to sit on a chair that I thought may not support me, I would shake it just a little bit to see if the legs were stable enough. Nobody ever noticed, but I did and that was pretty hard on my psyche.

Yeah, I size up chairs. I'll just tell someone that I don't feel like sitting instead of risking it.
That's part of the reason why we picked Universal Studios - I think there are less of the strapped in bucket coaster rides than Disney or other places.
