spinoff to 'how soon to look for a new job'

I've only been at my current job 4 mos, but i hate it and am looking to leave. Honestly the hrs are killer. How would it be best to spin this in an interview?

we have a 1 yr old, and my reason for taking the current job was that it is on LI and I didn't want to do the city commute anymore. However, the stress is nuts, they really need 2 people for one job but they won't hire someone else (they think it will streamline later, and I can see, it won't). I work in corp finance, where there are always peak times, but where I am it is constant 'stress' mode.

How best to spin this in an interview? I don't want to address 'hrs' in the first interview and look like some slacker, or clock-watcher, but I don't know how to address 'why I am looking' without it. HELP is appreciated! I have an interview coming up in a couple of weeks that I am really excited about and don't want to blow it.
Thanks so much!!

is the interview in the same field or the exact same position/responsibilites?

I was in a similiar situation once. I was working at a travel pr firm (was there for 4 years) and moved to another pr firm that specialized in building products (ie - elevators.) I HATED it and started interviewing 4 months later. The excuse (though it was the truth) I used was that I missed travel pr terribly, leaving it was a mistake and I want to return to it.

Re: spinoff to 'how soon to look for a new job'

unfortunately its the same field. I'm not a job-hopper (was at my last position 7 years), which I think they see on my resume. I am trying to think of a better spin to put on my wanting to leave without bad-mouthing my current company and looking bad...

Basically, I have a micro-managing boss, and it is just the 2 of us, and they just keep adding to the workload. Personally, I think my boss' boss doesn't like my boss, and every time he tries to get more resources or streamline things, he gets denied. Which then, makes my life more difficult! So I don't think its really worth sticking around, as bad as I feel for the guy.

I would just say that the opportunity was not the right match for you.

Re: spinoff to 'how soon to look for a new job'

Was your old company bigger? Is the new company that you are interviewing at bigger? If so you can say that you miss the speed of being with a bigger firm (bceause you mentioned that it is only 2 people) and spin it that way...that you are a big (bigger) company kind of girl; you wanted to try something new when you left your old job (after SEVEN years!!) and you now realize that you made a mistake FOR YOU. Focus on your loyalty at your previous company.
