Spinoff to: I can't believe ur not finding out
Curliegirl has the opposite issue as I find myself dealing with. My husband and I had our level 2 today and found out the sex...I call my brothers and not one of the 3 that I spoke with want to know. They want to be surprised the day of. How do I keep it a surprise now that I know? I want to tell people , but I don't want to ruin their surprise.
Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did u handle it? thanks

to them. Tell them, "look, I'm not going to call my baby "it", so either we won't speak for a few months, or you're just going to have to know."
Sorry- this is NOT their surprise to claim and you're not going to call the baby it, you'll be saying he/she- it's just natural to do that once you know.

ooooo that's a tough one!
I guess you will just have not tell them, but they'll find out from everyone else soon, so you won't have to hold it in long!

Re: Spinoff to: I can't believe ur not finding out
thanks ladies. I am really surprised that they don't want to know b/c most people ask, do you know yet? it's so weird that 3/4 don't want to know. I already told my dad, so now he'd have to keep it hush if he wants. but part of me thinks its swee that they want their 1st neice/nephew to be a surprise.
oh boy...guess i can't post the sono pics on myspace now...

I call our baby IT all the time, more for laughs.
Honestly, this decision is right up there with ultrascreens, amnios and other tests....it's up to you and what YOU are comfortable with. I happen to revel in the beauty of not knowing...but I do see the benefits of knowing for sure that there's a boy or girl coming. Certainly would've made my parting with the bedding I loved easier if I KNEW the baby was a boy and the butterflies were out. Instead, the butterflies were out b/c of the chance it might be a boy.
To note, we dubbed the baby "baby bear" to avoid the IT factor.
