Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
My hair has NEVER had any treatments or chemicals, so I am hesistant.
However, I cant stand my frizz hair and i have hardly anytime in the morning to do my hair with a full time job and a 7 month old.

Re: Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
Yes.
No blow drying (unless you want to)....Straight ALL the TIME!! No frizz.
Honestly I did it right before I got pg. I didnt want to redo for my own reasons ( i missed my locks) and till this day...my hair is pretty straight. I can still blow dry and leave to work without flat iron.
I went to New Mode in Plainview and paid $280

Speaking as someone who did it 4 times..I'm going to say NO! The first time it came out VERY nice..and I loved it..because it was so simple, wash and go, or blow if you like more body. However, the chemicals do damage your hair. The straight look was ok for a while, but then it got boring. Also..it really does damage your hair. This is supposed to be done on "virgin" hair only, but has been done on colored, highlighted hair as well. I've gone to 3 different places one in Queens that EVERYONE knows of, another in Queens not far from that place and then Manhattan which ws VERY expensive!!
When I finally decided to let it grow out it took almost 2 years. Personally Iwouldn't do it again...but that's just me.
If you are willing to try it out..I say go for it, but keep in mind the grow out process. I've seen girls walking around with curly roots and everything else straight and it defenitely doesn't look "natural" .

totally worth it - especially if time is limited. i still dry my hair but that's only b/c i don't like walking around w/ a wet head. it takes 5 minutes. gotta love it!

Re: Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
I liked it for the plain reason that I have the most insanely curly and frizzy hair ever....so it was the easiest thing in the world for me...On the other hand, I didn't like it, bc I like some body to my hair, and this gave me NONE, so I am not doing it again because of that, but if you want ease of not having to think about your hair, its great!!!

Re: Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
For me it's completely worth it. I was never good at doing my hair. Add in 2 children who need to be fed, dressed & out of the house before 7:30am so I can catch my train into the city - it's a huge timesaver.
I wash my hair, comb it & get dressed.
The first time I got it done, it came out great.
The second time not great but I think it was the place I went. Everyone that went around the same time as me had the same issues.
The third time - well I did it today so I'll let you know in a week.

For me its definitely worth it. Saves me about an hour of blow drying/straightening a day.

Re: Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
it's 100% worth it... I've done it like 5 times... it doesn't do any more damage to your hair than blow drying and flat ironing everyday would.....
My other option would be a wet bun, and that's bad for your hair as well...
I my japanese hair!!!

Re: Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
ABSOUTELY!
Mine was done in March and since I am preggo I cannot get it done right now. The growth is not bad and the little blow out and iron I do to the roots is still better than when I used to have to blow the whole head!
I can't imagine ever going back to the hour + I used to spend on my hair, and with a new baby coming, would I have that time???!!!!!
After all these months, I just realized that I can add curl too (using hot rollers or curling iron) and it lasted all night!
I hope to get to NY next year to have it redone again!!!!
Money well spent!!!!!

Re: Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
100% for me
I have gotten in done at least 8 times- I lost count
for me top piont was the best- and the cheapest (better then the lady that charges $1K - I was her model so I din't pay for it)
my hair drys straight and shiney- even in FL
it used to take me 45 minutes to blow it out- and then it was frizz
now I am out the door in LESS time then that!

Re: Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
I have to say yes, it's definitely worth it. I've had curly, frizzy hair my whole life, and I'd spend HOURS under the blow dryer SWEATING only for it to come frizzy. No product ever worked for me. I used to spend hundreds of dollars on flat irons, and I have the best blow dryers out there. Thanks to the girls on here, I got it done in September, and my hair dries PIN straight. I love it. I would do it again and again and again. DH says I'm a different person, and since I'm not blow drying my hair anymore, we have a lot more time to do other things!
I went to Top Point in Queens and spent $220.

Re: Spinoff to Japanese Hair--Is it worth it?
I've been getting it done for almost 5 years now....I usually get it done once (maybe twice the most) per year....
Honestly, it changed my life, and NO it does not ruin your hair, and NO it does not mean you can get other treatments like highlighting or coloring - just wait three-four weeks between processes....My hair has NEVER been so strong, shiny and healthy before!
I got it done yesterday and for $150! My hair is about 2" away from the top of my butt.....
