Spinoff to jgm26 scary post

I am so glad things worked out ok.
I am so glad you are getting an alarm. Everyone should have one, more importantly though....those of us who have alarms in the home....KEEP THEM ON!
An alarmed home with a warning sign may keep some burglars from trying to enter your home...however, they are getting more and more brazen these days.
My brother and I were held up at gunpoint in our home about 2 years ago (this was prior to marrying DH and having Taylor).
My brother was newly separated and thank God, my nephew who was 5 at the time wasn't at home.
Luckily, the alarm was on, if it had been on properly, it would have gone off immediately when the door was broken down instead of waiting a few minutes (which seemed like forever).

So, if there is one thing I can remind everyone of, if you have an alarm, make sure you use it and stay safe.

Thanks for the reminder. We don't really use ours when we are home because it has a motion sensor. I need to figure out how to bypass the motion sensor and use it for the doors & windows.
